ReneeOwens.com is first and foremost a personal journal and atelier. It is where Renee shares her own projects, experiences, discoveries, memories, research, opinions, creative successes, and occasional spectacular misadventures.

The website is not an open publishing platform. Visitors may not create or publish independent posts unless a separate invitation or contributor arrangement has been expressly established.

Visitors are, however, warmly invited to participate in appropriate conversations and may share links to their own creative websites, journals, channels, shops, or other little corners of the internet when those links are relevant to the discussion and comply with the Comments & Community Guidelines.

Creative Content, Tutorials & Personal Experience

Articles, videos, demonstrations, tutorials, reviews, and project notes are shared for general informational, educational, historical, and entertainment purposes.

Creative work often involves experimentation. A method, material, pattern, tool, paint, fabric, or technique that works well for Renee may perform differently for another person. Visitors are responsible for evaluating instructions, materials, tools, safety precautions, and project suitability according to their own circumstances.

Older posts and videos may preserve previous branding, retired products, discontinued services, historical prices, outdated packaging, or resources that are no longer available. Whenever practical, descriptions and links may be updated, but archived content remains a record of the time in which it was originally created.

The Mermaid’s Satchel Project

The Mermaid’s Satchel Project is a creative-giving initiative intended to help place art and drawing supplies into the hands of aspiring artists who may not otherwise have an easy opportunity to begin.

Satchels may contain donated, purchased, surplus, sample, gently handled, or carefully repackaged creative materials. Contents may vary according to available resources, recipient needs, shipping restrictions, and the supplies on hand.

Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, selection, availability, a particular collection of supplies, or delivery by a specific date. Additional terms concerning requests, eligibility, safety, privacy, shipping, recipient codes, and available materials are explained in The Mermaid’s Satchel Project Guidelines.

The Mermaid’s Satchel Project is separate from the creative kits Renee plans to offer for sale.

Voluntary Support & Contributed Supplies

Visitors may have opportunities to support Renee’s creative work, this website, the studio, or The Mermaid’s Satchel Project through Ko-fi, contributed art supplies, purchases, referral links, or other voluntary methods.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Renee Owens and The Mermaid’s Satchel Project are not presented as a registered charitable organization. Financial support and contributed supplies should not be assumed to qualify as tax-deductible charitable donations.

Support may help pay for website expenses, studio materials, packaging, satchel fabric, replacement tools, shipping, project administration, and the time required to assemble and distribute creative supplies.

Future Creative Kits & Shop

Renee plans to develop painting, drawing, embroidery, hand-sewing, and other small creative kits for sale. These will be ordinary for-profit products offered through her working studio and will remain separate from the free Mermaid’s Satchel Project.

Revenue from future kits may help sustain ReneeOwens.com, support continued creative work, cover studio and business expenses, and provide additional resources for future free satchels.

Purchasing a product does not constitute a charitable donation and should not be treated as tax deductible. Any statement explaining how purchases help support the project describes Renee’s intended use of business revenue rather than a charitable contribution made by the customer.

Before physical or digital products are offered, the applicable product descriptions, prices, payment terms, fulfillment information, shipping policies, return terms, safety information, and usage rights will be made available to customers.

Creative Materials & Safety

Painting, sewing, embroidery, crafting, and mixed-media projects may involve sharp tools, needles, pins, scissors, adhesives, pigments, paints, solvents, small components, heat, or materials that may present allergy, ingestion, choking, ventilation, or other safety concerns.

Visitors and recipients are responsible for reading manufacturer instructions, observing age recommendations, checking ingredients and material information, using appropriate protective measures, and supervising children or other individuals who require assistance.

Creative supplies should not be assumed to be food-safe, cosmetic-safe, child-safe, pet-safe, allergy-safe, or suitable for every purpose merely because they appear in an article, video, kit, or satchel.

Unless otherwise indicated, the original writing, artwork, photographs, videos, graphics, project instructions, downloads, branding, and other materials created for ReneeOwens.com belong to Renee Owens or are used with permission.
